Remote sites and standalone facilities, such as an exterior cellular phone tower, water tower, gated parking lot or turnstile, have unique access control needs.
Most are simple rooms or gated areas but with valuable and critical items inside. They are often protected with nothing more than locks and keys, which provides a thin layer of security as keys can be lost, stolen or borrowed. Securing these locations with traditional server-based access control can require hundreds of feet of wire and days of installation time. Contributing to their unique challenges, remote sites can sometimes be located in remote places with extreme conditions that test the limits of equipment.
e-DATA Biometric Access Control requires no software or servers so that users can manage access without central computers. This allows systems to easily adapt to unusual requirements of a customer by providing the flexibility of software-embedded systems that can be placed at remote access points. And because each Master Unit device contains a unique IP address, all e-DATA equipment can be tied back to a central point, allowing users to manage multiple access points and multiple facilities from one interface.
e-DATA's Fingerprint Key is a NEMA 4, IP65-rated biometric reader for indoor and outdoor use.
